CENIT@EA management is organised around an academic management directed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jorge Marx Gómez (UOL) and Dr. Kisangiri Michael (NM-AIST). The project leadership will be responsible for the coordination with DAAD, all support, networking and coordination of ongoing sub-projects, for communication and public relations, as well as advancement of CENIT@EA activities. It will be supported by a Steering Committee which will be set up consisting nominated thematic field representatives per partner institution. One administrative coordinator at each partner university will assist the leadership and steering committee members with the implementation of the academic programmes, as well as administration and travel arrangements. Based on past experience, administrative coordinators are deemed essential to carry out the ambitious programme of CENIT@EA and to maintain excellent levels. Monitoring will be implemented throughout the duration of the project and will have the aim of detecting deficiencies, obstacles and/or adjustment needs in a timely manner to enhance the expected results. Additionally, monitoring will involve a strict and ongoing follow-up of what is happening during implementation of the project and it will analyse how management indicators are evolving. The monitoring of indicators will systematically collect and report trends with the purpose of informing respective people in charge. A mid-term or intermediate evaluation of the project will explore the conditions that may facilitate or hinder the achievement of objectives. It will periodically examine current events to answer specific questions related to design, implementation, and results, to intervene in a timely manner. An international Advisory Board is to be established in which high-ranking personalities from academia and civil society will serve as advisors to the CENIT@EA and its subprojects. Prof. Dr. Paul Webb is an Emeritus professor of science education at the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. His interests lie in the promotion of scientific literacy in its broadest sense, including promoting understandings of the nature of science, inquiry and exploratory talk, alternative worldviews and science, language issues in science teaching and learning, use of technology in science education, and the development of thinking skills and visuo-spatial abilities.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Edwin O. Ataro is a senior lecturer and Director of ICT Directorate at Moi University (MU) in Kenya. He has a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Electrical Communications Engineering from Kassel-Germany. His experience includes the overall administration of ICT infrastructure and the directorate at MU, the design and development of new networks (in all MU campuses), the improvement of existing networks (in main and satellite campuses), the maintenance of existing ICT infrastructure, as well as the development of the Finance and Student Management Information System (FSMIS) leading a team of over 20 staff for the task, among others.
Prof. Dr. Martin Fränzle is a professor at the Department of Computing Science at the Carl von Ossietzky Oldenburg University and is the head of the research group "‘Hybrid Systems". His interests are in modelling, verification, and synthesis of reactive, real-time, and hybrid dynamics in embedded and cyber-physical systems. He has worked on the semantics of high-level modelling, specification languages and on decision problems and their application to verifying and synthesizing real-time and hybrid discrete-continuous systems including settings which are the subject to stochastic disturbances.
